Between Tatras
and Giovanni
Leonardo Bassan
THE MEETING OF ART AND SUSTAINABILITY;
THE COLLABORATION BETWEEN TATRAS AND GIOVANNI LEONARDO BASSAN IS NOT JUST A TRIBUTE
TO THE ARTIST’S DISTINCTIVE AESTHETICS BUT ALSO A STATEMENT OF INTENT: TO BRING
SUSTAINABILITY TO THE FOREFRONT. THIS PROJECT CELEBRATES ART AS A TOOL TO EXPLORE NEW
MATERIALS AND TECHNOLOGIES, REFLECTING OUR COMMITMENT TO A MORE MINDFUL
AND INNOVATIVE FUTURE.
At the heart of this collaboration lies the reversible MA-1 bomber jacket, a symbol of innovation and contemporary style. This unique garment tells a story, taking the wearer on a journey of creativity. The exterior of the bomber is a true work of art: its print faithfully reproduces the texture of an oil painting, adding depth and authenticity. The interior, crafted from recycled nylon, reveals a more intimate and graphic side, with the contours of Bassan's artwork subtly and elegantly emerging.
The bomber’s fabric is a true revolution: a blend of Spiber’s Brewed Protein™ Fiber and wool. Thanks to Spiber's cutting-edge fermentation technology, the protein fiber creates a unique twill that combines the silky luster of protein with the warm softness of wool. The result is a garment with a rich and luxurious texture, enhanced by a water-repellent finish that adds functionality without compromising its aesthetic appeal.
The bomber’s silhouette draws inspiration from TATRAS’ classic "Osodo" model, reimagined to seamlessly incorporate Giovanni Bassan's artistic vision into everyday life. This collaboration is not only an ode to the artist’s talent but also a testament to how fashion can transcend its traditional boundaries. The MA-1 bomber exemplifies how art and design can merge to create a product that unites creative expression with functionality, redefining the concept of sustainable luxury.
Through this partnership, TATRAS reaffirms its commitment to innovation and inspiration, offering a vision where fashion becomes the language of a dialogue between art, technology, and respect for the planet.
